A little gift for my mom.

I have this incredible person in my life... my mom!

She's everything you'd ever want in a mother: an amazing listener, phenomenal Ama (grandmother) to my kids, and she's always finding ways to share her gifts with others.

As a child, I never thought about my love for my mother. It was just there. Now that I'm an adult with children of my own, I think about it all the time. She's so incredible and my love for her grows every day.

I always wish I could do more for her, to show her how much I love her and appreciate her. This week, I made her a scrappy armrest pin cushion just like the one I made a few months ago... only I made hers in the jewel tones she loves.

It's a small thing, but sometimes those unexpected little gestures are the perfect way to show our mamas just how much we love and appreciate them. Have you thanked your mom lately?

  1. That is so gorgeous! I love the colours. What a thoughtful gift. I'm making my Mother some handmade birthday presents. I really want to make her a bag. I just have to put together a pattern for it =D

    1. Hi Joyce! Thanks so much for your sweet compliment! :) I gave it to her the morning after I finished it and she loves it. I had given her a sneak peak of the patchwork before everything was put together, so it wasn't a complete surprise, but it was wonderful to see the look on her face when I gave it to her.

I'm feeling good, but tired. Thanks for asking! I've got a letter for you started, and will try to get it out soon!

  3. Michelle! That is lovely, what a wonderful gift. I'm sure she'll love it! Its true... as you get older you really begin to appreciate parents and loved ones more than ever. Also, so sorry I wasn't able to get in touch with you, I really did want to chat pricing etc with you but had a CRAZY preparation day on friday. It was totally nuts! Good news is we had a great day yesterday. The fair was a blast (my sister was with me all day) we did make some money and it was wonderful. Pretty sure I over priced my bags... but you live and learn- all in all it was great!

    1. Robyn! I'm so glad the fair went so well for you! I felt so bad that I didn't see your questions sooner – I figured you were very busy with prep for the big day. I just wish I could have been more help! I hope you were able to get some photos of your booth (I never remembered to do that with my own) – and I hope you plan to do a wrap-up post on your blog. :)
